Tutoring

I tutor children from senior kindergarten to high school. Tutoring sessions are available in person and on Zoom.

I offer the following tutoring services:

Individual tutoring sessions

• This includes an initial assessment to determine the child’s abilities, followed by one-on-one sessions tailored to each child’s unique learning needs.
• Use of multi-sensory materials to engage the different senses in order to maximize learning.
• Focusing on Phonemic Awareness, reading (decoding), spelling (encoding), reading fluency and reading comprehension.

Small group tutoring sessions

• This includes an initial assessment to determine the child’s abilities, followed by sessions tailored to groups of 3 children at the same reading level.
• Use of multi-sensory materials to cater to varying learning styles within the group.
• Interactive and engaging lessons that encourage peer interaction.

I offer training sessions for educators and parents interested in learning more about Orton-Gillingham.

Training sessions are on Zoom and include:

• Individual modules covering the principles and techniques used in the Orton-Gillingham method.
• Activities and tips when working on different sections of the lesson.
• Practising the alphabet drill and spelling under my guidance.
• Question and answer sessions at the end of each Zoom session.

Observation and feedback

Once training is complete, I offer an additional service of observing individuals working with students and giving them feedback. There is a fee for each observation which I discuss with interested individuals.
